Travel Info

Air travel

Warsaw Frederic Chopin International Airport is located approx. 9 km from the city centre. It handles connections with all major European hubs as well as many European cities and towns. It also has direct connections with chosen airports in the Americas and Asia.

After landing at the airport, you can either catch a taxi or take a bus. Always ask the driver about the fare before boarding the cab. It should cost around 20 to 30 zlotys to get to the city centre. Bus ticket costs 2.80 PLN and you can buy one from the ticket vending machines at the bus stops. Your bike travels for free.

Sea travel

Probably travelling to Poland from Antarctica, New Zealand or China would take a bit too long, however taking a ferry from Scandinavia is worth considering. Your further journey will start from either the port of Świnoujście, Gdynia, or Gdańsk. We recommend the last two as they have much more convenient connections with Warsaw.

Overland

European rail network is the biggest on the planet and Warsaw is situated on the main European route connecting West and East. It has direct train connections with some European capitals including: Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Budapest, Kiev, Minsk, Moscow, Prague, Vienna. Choosing the train, in most cases you will arrive at Warsaw Central Station (Warszawa Centralna) located in the very city centre.

International trains, if not booked early in advance or if there wasn?t a discounted price, may cost a fortune. So, if you are on a budget and travel from within Europe, consider catching a coach. Many international carriers operate on the routes connecting Warsaw with all European countries.

Roads in Poland are being improved and new ones are being built (the government hurries in order not to be blamed by the UFEA EURO 2012 supporters flooding Polish roads with their cars). Make sure you are not carrying air on the empty seats on your way to Warsaw. Carpooling may be a good idea to solve it.

Finally, why not to come to Warsaw on your own bike? We will inform in the blog section about scheduled rides. Alternatively you can check the CMWC 2011 Warszawa?s Facebook profile.
